Published Paper
My passion for history was sparked by a 120-year-old genealogy book chronicling my family’s story across forty-five generations and two millennia. That fascination deepened when I learned that my grandmother had survived a Japanese retaliation attack on Chinese coastal villages following the Doolittle Raid during World War II. These personal connections to history inspired me to pursue an Independent Study Project in my junior year, culminating in a research paper on U.S.–China relations during World War II. My paper was selected as one of only eleven worldwide for publication in the Summer 2025 edition of The Concord Review, the only quarterly journal in the world to publish the academic history papers of secondary students.

After my essay was published, I had the unique opportunity to visit Mr. Robert Nasson, Editor of The Concord Review, during a swim camp trip. Stepping into TCR’s book-filled office was a moment I’ll never forget—it felt like entering a sanctuary for history enthusiasts. I’m deeply grateful to Mr. Nasson and the entire TCR team for providing such a meaningful platform for students passionate about historical scholarship.
